Scotchcast Reenterable Electrical Insulating Resin 2123 is a soft, two-part
polybutadiene resin encapsulant designed especially for reenterable splice
protection. Scotchcast 2123 is formulated for
virtually every electrical application requiring a soft, reenterable resin
with good handling and performance
characteristics. Scotchcast 2123 is also used as the insulating material for
cable splices operating at 1000
volts or less and is rated for continuous use at 194˚F (90˚C) with an
overload rating of 266˚F (130˚C). It
may be stocked to cover all reenterable resin needs, ending the need for
multiple encapsulant inventories.
This resin is a two-part polybutadiene and is formulated with excellent
wetting properties and low viscosity. Scotchcast 2123 flows well even at low
temperatures, filling the closure and minimizing voids. Resin should be
warmer than 40˚F (4.4˚C) for mixing and pouring.
